The 2012 Parksville Royals will be led by six grade twelves. Three pitchers, Junior National team LHP, Clayton Isherwood, RHP Bryan Pawlina and RHP/OF Liam Joyce will form the core of what should be a competitive pitching staff. Mackenzie Parlow will do the bulk of the catching and provide some power along with smooth swinging OF/1B Rob Vlaj while international exchange student, Yuki Takahashi, LHP/utility, completes the grade twelve component of the Royals.
Grade eleven pitchers Nic Annau, RHP, and Keller Anderson, LHP, will see plenty of action on the mound and as designated infielders. TR Doty, INF/OF/P, offers versatility at a number of spots while Sam Visona, OF, provides needed moxey in CF. Justin Dieleman will handle SS and swing a left hand bat. Blake Heemskerk will serve as a backup catcher / DH with short relief duty mixed in.
The lone grade ten, Andrew Evernden, RHP, will take a regular turn on the mound and fill in at various spots in the infield. Liam Ballace, 3B/DH, as a grade nine, is one of the youngest Royals to play a regular season with the team.
